Hey Guys, have you been postponing updating your headshots?
Don't worry, it isn't that painful, trust me!
Here are 5 quick tips to make the session a breeze.
- SHAVE- A good shave is essential. Make sure to trim the beard and don't neglect those pesky nose and ear hairs.
- HAIRCUT- Make plans to get your hair cut a week before the session if possible to avoid those last minute too short haircut mistakes. Bring a brush and hair gel for last minute touch ups.
- NAILS- Usually nails are not in traditional headshots but if you are going for some casual looks, then trim and file nails neatly.
- IRON- Be sure to have your shirts pressed or iron them yourself.
- ClOTHES- Bring a few options if you are unsure of what to wear and the photographer will help you select the best look. A suit, tie, and button up shirt are common for tradition headshots and for more formal looks. A button up, polo, or solid tee shirt works for more casual and creative careers. Good shirt colors include most solid darker shades, especially blue. In addition, the best looking clothes are those which fit you well. Consider bringing both formal and casual looks to have a variety for various purposes such as: linked in, facebook, your website, etc.
Check out these headshots for examples of both formal and informal looks.
